We decided to sit down and review several of these new software solutions to a locked up PC, slow performing computer and corrupt Windows Resistry. Our key criteria were ease-of-use (even if you nothing at all about a computer except how to turn it on), quick results, and affordability. Overall, we were pleasantly suprised with the results.
These simple to use solutions worked fantastic! On some older machines, the results are at times nothing less than amazing!
We reviewed several Windows Registry Repair products - Only 3 made the cut and met our criteria:

ErrorSmart is a great piece of software. In fact, we really had a tough time deciding on it as the 1st or 2nd place tool to use for slapping down problems with a locked up PC.
It also offers the Free Scan and same sort of run features. We just found it to be just a little more on the tech side. It's nothing to sneeze at though! It won't drain your brain or anything like that. It's just that we were looking for the simplest fix to a computer that was driving you nuts! It will do it hands down but again we just felt it leaned a little more to the tech side so we took away one mark on the "Easy To Use" rating.
It will perform an automatic repair of detected items after a scan as well as do some really cool protection things for you PC.
The Free Scan on this software uses a "No Holds Barred" approach when it comes across an error with your system. It's ready to knock em' out. Period! Just follow the simple instructions and you'll love it. It's worth a King's Ransom but the price is very affordable!

Regclean took care of business when it came down to repairing a corrupt registry and stopping locked computer problems. To us it just didn't seem to "roll out the red carpet" like the other two solutions we reviewed.
This doesn't mean it's bad software. That's far from the truth. It just wasn't our favorite out the finals.
If your PC is giving you nigtmares at the worst times (like when you have a report due for upper management), it's well capable of getting your PC back in good form and eliminating crashes and Windows Registry Errors!
Given our take on the software, we dropped off one mark in the "Quick Results" rating.
